Waving hands and saying ‘Hello’ should be something very normal in human society. However, since the ravage of epidemic and social movement, relationships between everyone have become more distant. Saying ‘Hello’ has become more difficult.
Photographer So Hing Keung is going to hold a photo exhibition: “Hello! How are you?”. Greeting by waving hands is a symbol of building friendships in human civilisation. This gesture, used by politicians, has also played an important role in human history. But we all know that nothing would remain unchanged. Just like the ‘New Norms’ brought by epidemic, the forms and meanings of things would change over time.
So Hing Keung used his hand to say ‘Hello’ to different objects. By displaying those images, the photographer sends these greetings to the audience. Starting from the shadow of a hand, then a hand with the body, to a particular posture finally, showed the way of thinking of the photographer.
Lumenvisum presents you: “Hello! How are you?” a photo exhibition by So Hing Keung in June 2021. Through the imaginative images, the audience may enter the world of the photographer, saying “Hello! How are you?” in a different way.
