The NEW LIGHT VII Exhibition Proposal Open Call ended last year with 13 submissions received. The adjudication panel composed of Lumenvisum’s advisors Mr Alfred Ko and Dr Edwin K. Lai met earlier in January, and were delighted to find the quantity and quality of the proposals submitted both higher than the previous year.
The winning proposal by Dorothy Wong demonstrates great maturity in her idea development and execution. Both panel members find her work about “the sectioning of time” very accomplished, and that the author ready for her artistic career takeoff. Currently a postgraduate student at School of Creative Media of City University of Hong Kong, Wong will be showing prints as well as moving images in her upcoming first solo in late May at Lumenvisum. Be sure to look out for it!
Lumevisum launches the proposal open call NEW LIGHT every year to discover new photographic talents and support their career takeoff through providing them a debut solo opportunity. NEW LIGHT VIII will soon be launched in May. If you want to be the next one featured, please stay tuned to Lumenvisum’s website and Facebook, or sign up to our mailing list for the latest news.
